CENTRALIA – After 5 p.m. on October 20th, a duo was seen stealing $800 worth of Nike shoes from a Famous Footwear store in an outlet store in Centralia, Washington.
A woman was observed not doing anything except browsing the items themselves, choosing not to buy any of the items at the store. Another man asked an employee for help, only to grab nine boxes of Nike shoes as the employee stepped away. Each box costs between $74.99 to $129.99, making the total price of the stolen merchandise roughly $840. [1]
While it initially seemed like those two were not associated in any way, the man hopped into the car that the woman got into after fully browsing the items and leaving the outlet. The pair escaped in what was described to be a gray and blue Dodge Charger, heading northbound on Interstate 5.
Suprisingly, there was no security footage or surveillance recordings that could identify the suspects. [2] But a witness reported that the man was rough 6’2 with dark hair, and an estimated 20-30 years old. On the other hand, the woman was said to be about 5’7 with long, wavy hair in a ponytail, sporting black pants and a dark gray sweatshirt at the time of the theft. [3]
The male suspect was found to be Roy Lynn Brown, a 42-year-old man who has had his arraignment scheduled for this certain crime [4]. Brown has reportedly stolen from the Centralia location 8 times, with the October 20th incident being one of them. He agreed to never enter a Nike store again after that time, according to defense attorney Rachel Tiller, along with paying a reduced bail of $50,000 instead of $75,000. (Brown was unable to pay the amount initially requested by prosecutor Scott Jackson.)
