Did you know that our very own Ridge High School’s Chorale has a concert coming up in the month of March? Come and support the 9th  and 10th grade girls who will be performing in our annual March show – this year, our theme is ‘We Are The World’ and we will be singing in the cafeteria on the evening of Tuesday, March 18th. We invite you to come join us as we take you around the world’ through solo performances, group performances, and best of all–food! 

What is ‘We Are The World’? 

‘We Are The World’ is a March show dedicated to presenting different styles of music from all over the world. Since this show is happening in the cafeteria, we will be providing food from different countries and cultures as well (which we know everyone loves!). There will also be cool decorations representing different cultures and posters that educate people about different countries. We’re so excited to present this to Ridge High School, and we really hope to see you there!

What are we featuring in ‘We Are The World’? 

We will be providing a list of pieces of what we’re performing in ‘We Are The World’. But first, let’s address some other things!

Individually, each of us are researching a country or culture that appeals to us or interests us. This can be countries from the song we’re singing, the country we’re from, or just any country we’re interested in! We need to create a tri-fold of information about a country’s culture and music, and we have to write reflections about pieces individually. These tri-folds will then be presented during the show!

Here are our performance titles. As a choir, we are all singing ‘Nesta Rua’, which is a traditional Portuguese song from Brazil. We are performing ‘Bhombela’, a song from Zulu, which is a fun, upbeat song with cool choreography involving sticks. There is also ‘Vem Kan Segla’, a Swedish song, and to end the show, a well known American song, ‘We Are The World’.
